BEEF ON EVERY PLATE CONTINUES TO DELIVER Montana Cattlemen's Association (MCA) Charitable Foundation continues to support Montanans in need through the Montana Food Bank Network. Beef deliveries have recently been made to the Gallatin Valley Food Bank and to the Butte Rescue Mission. The Butte Rescue Mission was very pleased by the support and donation from MCA's Beef-On-Every-Plate program. They are feeding approximately 300 people weekly. The cows were donated by Kim and Brett Redmond, Picket Pen Ranch, Absarokee, and by Clay McDonald of the Open Spear Ranch, Melville. The beef delivered to the Gallatin Valley Food Bank was donated by the J Bar L Ranch (Centennial Natural Beef) of Twin Bridges. This donation consisted of 3,500 pounds of natural beef roasts, steaks, and hamburger. This is the largest delivery so far in MCA's effort to put "beef on every plate", and should serve over 14,000 meals throughout the county. The need to help Montanans less fortunate is overwhelming. With rising food, fuel, and housing costs, many Montanans are struggling to feed their families. Kelly McDonald, Beef-On-Every-Plate Executive Director, notes, "Montana's hard working cattle producers continue to stand up and support Montana's needy. So many of the working poor, small children, and the elderly do not receive adequate protein in their diets. This program will help fill that need. If any producer can donate a cow or bull, it would be greatly appreciated." Contact Kelly at 539-1034 or 259-5433 to make arrangements. Cash donations are also appreciated to offset processing costs of approximately $400 per animal. Checks may be mailed to MCA, P.O. Box 31436, Billings, MT 59107. |
