MCA Meets With Trade Delegation Pursuant to an invitation extended by Senator Max Baucus and the Montana Farm Bureau, MCA Vice-President Kim Baker, past MCA presidents Paul Ringling and Dennis McDonald, and MCA animal ID chairman Hugh Broadus, had the opportunity Sunday, August 10, 2008 to meet with the U.S. Ambassadors from Colombia, Morocco, New Zealand, Peru, and Vietnam. MCA would like to thank Senator Baucus for organizing the event and to Montana Farm Bureau for sponsoring the lunch. Kim noted, "This was a great opportunity to discuss with these ambassadors the high quality grains and beef we produce. Each of the ambassadors talked of sending follow-up trade delegates to Montana." Ringling commented, "Exposing world markets to our superior products and establishing the acquaintances of these ambassadors may serve as potential bridges to opening profitable markets in Montana." The ambassadors also had an opportunity to visit several farms and ranches during their visit. McDonald said, "Senator Baucus has led the way in opening markets for Montana products. He has previously put together similar visits by foreign ambassadors that have proven successful. We appreciate all that Senator Baucus does for Montana agriculture." MCA would like to also thank Bob Hanson for serving as master of ceremonies and as host. |
